Reason
Rehoming:

We love Bear and hope to give him a better home than he has here. Our older dog even after some time is very territorial with him and has not taken to him as we’d hoped. With his high energy level and playful spirit it’s hard to have him inside with our youngest child as much as we’d like. When he’s had the freedom of camping, or hiking in the foothills, he has done great and seems much more mellow, and has been able to be around small kids with no problems in those scenarios.

New Home
Preferences:

Bear has a high energy level and needs lots of running and playing. He would be perfect for someone who is very active and loves the outdoors. He has a need for lots of activity and play. He is very happy and loving, and I’ve never seen him growl at a person or animal. He does chew and likes to dig which is typical of young labs, so expect that. Having his activity needs met will help. He LOVES quality doggie time, so if you have another dog he will love him/her instantly. He also LOVES to play fetch. He is up-to-date on all his shots including rabies, and is fixed. His tail was docked by his first owner. I hesitate to say he’s fully house-broken because he is in and out a lot, but we have not had any issues with him marking in the house recently in the last few months (we did before he was neutered).

Bear’s Personality

Fido Lifestyle: Activity Buddy, Dog Park Dog, Family Dog
Description:

Bear is a super sweet, playful, loving and active dog, who loves every person and animal he meets. He likes to run, play fetch, and play with other dogs. He would be perfect for someone with an active lifestyle and who loves the outdoors. He has done great on hikes and camping trips. While this handsome guy is a Lab/Mini Aussie mix, his looks, size and temperament definitely take after the Labrador side of the family! He weighs approximately 60 lbs. At 15 months old, he’s at a very trainable age. He loves our cat, but our cat does not love dogs – so he respects her space and stays away from her! He is neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations. His tail was docked by his first owner.

Personality: Goofy, Athletic, Trainable, Personality!, Excitable
Activity Level: High energy! Ready for anything, anytime. Enjoys endurance hiking, biking, whatever.
Training Level: Basic Training (ex. “Come”, “Sit”, “Down”, “Stay”)
