I am rehoming my dog because I struggle with anxiety at times, and it is deepened when Murphy mirrors that back at me. Aside from that, life has gotten busier and busier and I know that I cannot give Murph the amount of love and attention that he deserves. He is an awesome dog.
The ideal new home for my dog would be with someone who is patient, loving, well versed in dog training and can consistently set boundaries. He can be a little rule breaker at times! He would be happiest with someone who has ample time to hang and adventure with him. He is an intelligent and active boy!
Due to Murphy’s history of separation anxiety and anxiety surrounding change, it would be ideal to spread transition into a new home over a month or so, so that it is not a traumatic experience for him.

Meet Murphy! He is a friend to all dogs and loves to instigate a good game of chase at the park. He rarely finds a dog faster or more psyched than he is! Murph is always down for an all day adventure, but is also satisfied with a quick walk or a day of chilling at home, especially if he can lay outside in the sun. He is great on a leash and off (which he prefers), but he will sometimes wander off for a quick solo adventure if he gets latched onto an interesting scent. Murphy has a complex personality, likely generated from his turbulent past of being in and out of a shelter after being rescued from a reservation in southern Utah. At times he is independent and will hang in his crate all day, but at others he will try to crawl into your lap or curl up in bed with you if you let him. He is pretty goofy and has a lot of pizzaz when excited, but can also be anxious with change. Murph loves most people, but can be hesitant of men if a proper introduction is not performed. It takes him all of 2 minutes to warm up to them usually. Murph can be mouthy when playing, but is gentle about it, especially with children. I coach youth and he has always been really sweet with the little ones! He travels really well, and usually falls asleep in the car within 10 minutes or so. When I first got Murph, he had a mild case of separation anxiety and would bark excessively when left alone. He never tried to escape his crate or destroy its contents, and it only took about a month to train him out of it. Since then he has been great at home alone!
