Rehoming Details

Rehoming Fee: $100
Reason
Rehoming:

We are rehoming our dog due to a change in family circumstances and lack of appropriate space for her size and natural tendencies as a breed.

New Home
Preferences:

Hannah’s ideal new home would include a family that has a large property and other animals that she can watch over and outside barking would not be considered a nuisance to neighbors. She loves going for walks and enjoys being part of the family. I would recommend a family with children 5 and above as she does not like to be crawled on. Her new home would have time for grooming or make allowances to take her to a groomer. Great Pyreneese do shed all year long. Hannah would love to have a job at her new home.

Special
Arrangements:

Prefer a 2 week trial to ensure an appropriate fit for Hannah and the new family. We are willing to take her back if the family is not a good fit.

Hannah’s Personality

Fido Lifestyle: Chill & Mellow Dog, Guardian, Protector Dog, Intelligent, Working Dog
Description:

Hannah is a fabulous Great Pyrenees mix and would make a wonderful addition to the right adopting family. Hannah loves the cold weather and all the Central Oregon Snow. She enjoys being outside most of the day to keep an eye on things. She prefers to guard her home by providing a watchful eye and barks when she perceives any sort of threat. Because of her tendency to bark, a home that is situated away from neighbors would be preferred. Hannah is excellent at the groomers (taken every 10 weeks), gentle with a variety of pets. Older children, age 5 and above is preferred. She has been exposed to adult cats, kittens, large and small dogs and an indoor rabbit. Hannah enjoys going to the dog park and Doggy Daycare. She is generally very tolerant with other dogs though does have a more dominate temperament and will not back down if another dog is being the aggressor. Hannah has been to 2 obedience classes though can be an independent thinker which is breed characteristic. She walks well on the leash and enjoys car rides. She does not do well in hot weather and does have a hard time keeping up with running or hiking during the summer. Hannah does enjoy being part of the family and likes to be inside with her family for part of the day. We did complete DNA testing and Hannah is exactly 50% Great Pryenees and 50% Maremma Sheepdog. I highly recommend a potential family read up on both breeds as Hannah is very true to her breed description.

Personality: Intelligent, Protective, Independent, Gentle
Activity Level: Medium energy. Always ready for play, but can also just hang. Recommend daily walks.
Training Level: Basic Training (ex. “Come”, “Sit”, “Down”, “Stay”)
Other Training: Property Guard Dog
