We have young nieces and nephews and friends with young kids. We have tried leashing, muzzling, training, but can’t seem to stop the nipping. It is a relatively new occurrence since moving to Portland 1.5 years ago..
|Preferences for New Home:||
A quiet home with no kids or other pets. Someone that likes company and wants the protective dog at their side. She needs a fenced yard. A quiet neighborhood with out a lot of neighbor noise.
We will send with all her current mess, bed, leashes. We currently have her on cbd for anxiety and hip pain.
|Fido Lifestyle:||Chill & Mellow Dog, Guardian, Protector Dog, Sensitive Friend, a Rescue|
Grace is a loving, protective dog with her family. She loves attention and to be pet…if you stop, she will vocalize her disapproval. She is the ultimate snuggler aka bed hog. She is loyal to a fault. She is also not dog friendly, or hyper kid friendly (nips) and is very vocal, which makes for a good watch dog. She is definitely an indoor dog…she’s out to potty and then back in. She loves her walks or “patrol” as we call it cause she is always on high alert. We do keep her away from people and dogs on the walks. She is very prey driven…but responds to a tug on the leash and “leave it”. The walks seem to help with her hip, but they are generally short and sweet. She loves to swim, but the blue fur doesn’t do well in water…prone to skin infections and the swimming actually aggravates her hip. She really is a love and we hate to have to rehome her, but we can’t have the liability of a nipper. She also prefers to have someone home with her most of the time.
|Activity Level:||Low(ish) energy. Likes quiet indoor time, but outdoors for easy walks is great too!|
|Training Level:||Intermediate (ex. “Wait”, “Heel”, “Leave It”)|
