I am fostering Denmark for Cascade Canine Rescue East & West (CCREW) in Tumalo, Oregon. CCREW is a Central Oregon 501(c)(3) non-profit group dedicated to savings dogs from overcrowded, high kill shelters and other urgent situations in California. Due to Denmark’s very shy personality when meeting strangers and in new situations, he has not done well at busy, chaotic adoption events so we are reaching out to find him the perfect person & home.
An active, loving home with one or two people who can spend a lot of time with him. We think his pre-shelter life may have been somewhat traumatic and he’s just looking for some love and kindness. He has a great big heart and will love his people right back.
For an adoption application, please visit www.ccrew.org. Denny’s adoption fee is $300. CCREW can also be reached by phone, 541-948-0097, or email, firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have other questions about Denny or would like to schedule a meet & greet, please contact me (his foster mom).

Denmark (aka Denny) is a sweet and amazing doxy mix currently available for adoption through Cascade Canine Rescue East and West (CCREW), 501(c)(3) non-profit group, in Tumalo, Oregon. He is currently being fostered in Redmond, OR. You can learn more about Denmark by contacting CCREW or his foster mom (information to follow).
Age, size and breed: Denmark is approximately 1 ½ to 2 years old, full-grown at 20 pounds. He’s probably mostly Dachshund based on his long wiener-shaped body and short legs but there’s something else in the mix too – his legs and feet are a little sturdier than most doxy’s and he occasionally howls and bays (it’s pretty cute) so may have a little beagle in the mix. He’s a beautiful white dog with handsome cream and light brown freckles and spots.
Good in a home with other dogs and cats. He hasn’t been around chicken or other livestock so don’t know how he’d react but he doesn’t seem to have a high prey drive so would probably be fine. He loves gentle play with other small dogs and also does well with gentle larger dogs.
Denny’s very afraid of small children and may have been harmed by one in the past so will do best in a home without young kids.
I’ve been fostering Denny for almost two months and have nothing but good to say about this little guy – he is truly a sweet and gentle soul. He’s very shy and somewhat afraid of new people, places and situations but has really come out of his shell and is gaining more confidence each day. With kindness and patience as he adjusts to new surroundings, you will discover what a happy, loving and playful little guy he is. Denny is house-trained and loves going for walks (even in the snow, he loves snow). He learns new things quickly and responds well to praise and yummy treats. He would love a home with another canine companion or two but he really loves being around his people and would probably be fine as an only dog.
