Reason Rehoming: |
I am Teal’s breeder, technically. He was brought into the world via my Vizsla male and Dogo Argentino female. Teal’s family could no longer care for him for SO many reasons including inability to keep up with Teal’s high energy and exercise needs, inability to feed Teal what he needed for optimal health, inability to communicate and understand Teal in a loving + sensitive way. |
New Home Preferences: |
>>> Here’s a quick checklist of Teal’s homing needs:• Ability to feed raw food for meals – as well as provide raw meaty bones, chews, treats etc. This guy is very food-driven and will be immensely happy given full meals as well as treats, snacks and rewards throughout the day.• Ability for him to spend lots of time outside at his leisure. If you have land, that’s a plus. If you live in a neighborhood with a large fenced yard, that works too!• Cuddles with humans inside the house is a must (i.e on couch and in your bed).• Practice obedience for mental health. He is eager to please you! He enjoys being rewarded for anything you like that he does, so give him the opportunity to impress you.• Lots of opportunities to play with other dogs! HE LOVES other dogs and to play; he’s highly socialized and aware of social cues from dogs and humans.• Interactive toys + games are important! You can find these online or create them yourself. He will play independently but will also appreciate you taking time every day to play with him with toys. He’s very smart and will look for ways to entertain himself and accomplish what he needs if you don’t challenge him mentally. Please ask us if you need recommendations!• Ability to go swimming and be in the water as often as possible. He loves the water! He swam when he was 10 weeks old when we had him and he swims right now – any time of year.• Needs an owner that will love him as much as he can love them. An owner that wants a dog to be their best friend that they’ve ever had (possibly someone with experience have a Velcro breed such as a Vizsla). He especially needs this at this point of this life because he has been desiring this level of love for a year and hasn’t received it, which is what we believe led to him acting out in his previous home.• At least 2 hours of full-on, physical exercise every day as he is a large, high-energy breed dog who is extremely athletic + active (i.e. fetch, swimming, hiking, running, bike-riding, on-leash walking, off-leash walking, dog park play, etc).• Wants to be thoroughly mentally stimulated in some form and would appreciate a “job”. Things that could work for this dog include: being someone’s working service dog; included in any + all family outings such as trips to the grocery store, welcomed alongside in other stores, or accompanied to your friends’ house, to work, etc; agility and/or obedience training; activities such as carting/backpacking; hunting companion such as for birds or pigs; farm helper.• Needs a chill, calm environment with someone who is grounded, consistent and has routine. If he experiences any inconsistencies within the first year of having him, he will likely be upset. He will appreciate knowing when he can expect a meal, that he is allowed to roam around the house, go explore outside when he asks to, rely on you to exercise him morning and night, as well as cuddle with him/give him kisses and affection as often as possible throughout the day. |
Special Arrangements: |
For anyone potentially interested in giving this angel the best life + sweetest home he could imagine, our re-homing process will be very thorough. Anyone interested can contact us for an application at northcoastpastures@gmail.com, followed by a phone interview, reference check, home inspection, and a few visits to meet/get-to-know Teal. There will be a rehoming fee. We do not know an exact time frame for Teal’s official re-homing. At this time, we’re shooting for possibly March or April. |

Description: |
The most wonderful thing about the Vizsla-Dogo Argentino cross-breed [that we’ve brought into the world via Gila (our vizsla) + Kali’s (our dogo argentino) puppies] is that they will be anything + everything for you as long as you understand their needs + desires and learn to effectively communicate with them. If not, their heart will break and their exemplary nature will deteriorate very quickly… transforming into a really sad situation for all involved. This happened with Teal. We’re very grateful that his family reached out to place him back with us, with timing that allowed for Teal to heal in our home, as their home was no longer providing a happy + safe environment for him to thrive at his highest potential. Isaac, myself, Kali, Gila and Uele are all nurturing Teal back to the best version of himself, as we begin the venture of finding for the perfect home for him! |
